Page Rank though blown way out of proportion by self claimed SEO gurus is a fantastic way of judging on the amount of authority a website or page holds. Even Matt Cutts speaks about Google's Page Rank showing the authority which a website has. Now the problem with Page Rank is it has nothing to do with content, keywords, or any other aspect of SEO except for external vs. internal links. Well that is my thoughts on PR remember though SEO has ten times the effect of PR when it comes to the SERPs so take time learning about SEO rather than spending all your time building backlinks.
